News after SS2:

Weather conditions : temperature around 0°C. Grey sky, fog, and low visibility (around 200m only). Icy surface and frozen gravel.

The two Xsaras were on GE type tyres (for icy ground), as most of the other competitors using Michelin tyres.

Sébastien Loeb: "I started on a cautious pace in SS1 and increased the pace halfway through the stage. On stage 2, we had a clean run except for a spin in fifth gear after arriving too fast in a right corner. We only lost few seconds."

Carlos Sainz: "I have a good feeling with the car. I'm surprised with the road conditions but in the good way. There's more ice than I expected. Actually, these are normal conditions for Sweden."
